Age You Started Running: I started running races and trying to improve my running when I was about 55. I loved to run when I was young but I grew-up when girls did not have the opportunities they do now. For many years I simply tried to keep in shape by sporadically jogging as I completed school, began a career and Dick and I raised our two sons. Then, about 7 years ago, I entered a 10k race in Missoula. I finished but I knew I could do better. It also struck me how much I loved to run when I was young. I joined Run Wild Missoula and found a running community with group training runs with training plans. This allowed me to improve.
Favorite Thing About Running: I love running because it is such a challenge. It is difficult to do as it take persistence and determination just to get out the door. Therefore, whether it be finishing a marathon, a 5K or even a training run I get a great sense of accomplishment. Running is also a fantastic exercise and you will get in the best shape of your life.
Favorite Thing to Do Outside of Running: Being with my family.
